Bishop Daniel R. Jenky of Peoria said Vatican officials have told him that the upcoming beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen has been postponed. A news release from the Diocese of Peoria said it was informed Dec. 2 that Vatican had decided to postpone the Dec. 21 ceremony “at the request of a few members” of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Details on what prompted the bishops to intervene were unknown.

They need to get the brass knuckles before they beatify him. Beatify him real good.

Fulton Sheen was one of the first religious figures -- Catholic or Protestant -- to use the then new medium of television to reach the masses. And he was VERY popular even among Protestants who otherwise did not agree with his Catholic views.

I saw that the other day. Curious to say the least especially the battle to get his body back to Peoria.

I really wonder if this is from the USSCB or Francis’ doing due to some political reason. I don’t trust this Popes motives on anything.
