I saw the start of the nerd culture being encouraged in 2002, then that grew or branched into hipster by 2005-2006.
I know this because I wore flannel and plaid in high school...and then suddenly it became a thing.

You were lumbersexual before it was cool?

Sounds like you're not man enough to grow facial hair.

pretty sure hipsters were around in 2008...
Hipsters, in anything resembling their current form, have been around since at least the early 90's. But back then it was called "emo". That's before what was known as "emo" became "goth with tight clothes" sometime in the early-mid 2000's.

I see you trolling girly man who can't grow a beard.

No. It was several years before 2010. More like 2006-2007.
Maybe what you're meaning to say is that hipster fashion didn't become mainstream until 2010. That I would agree with.

I wish the beard fad would go away. I've had facial hair of some sort since high school. I think I've been clean shaven once in the last 15 years. I had the beard before it was cool, however I do keep it short and very neatly trimmed.
I just don't like it when something I do or wear suddenly becomes a cult like fad.

Nope. I just got out the army three months ago and didn't want to shave. My dad also passed away last Tuesday and always had a beard. So I wanted to look like him during his service as a tribute

I have a beard so I can store my lunch.

Are you just inventing pop culture history as you go along?

Don't know if it has been brought up yet or not, but the Tacticool guys are now in on the beards. Since the SEALS and Delta are the rage these days and those guys are all sporting beards, the fad is sadly not going away.

Just be yourself and ignore the fads.

I had one until my stylist freaked it up. I grow one for every hunting season.

I don't think it's some fad or whatever you men refer to it as. I grew up where all the men had beards
