Beard in "professional photo" - yes or no?

Our company is paying some photographers to take professional photos of all of us for Outlook and other things.

I have a well-manicured beard 90% of the year the last few years, but I'm not sure I want to keep it for the photo that might stick with me for a long time. I might be shaving it off once this summer anyway so should I just do it now in time for the photo?

What if I get sick of the beard?

What say the OT? Shave it off or keep it?

Keep it for the photo.

ETA: Unless you know now, for a fact, you're about to shave it off anyways.

This with no gray

Its a well trimmed beard with solid lines. Definitely not a "long beard" in any sense.

I usually shave it off once in the summer when it gets hot as balls outside and I'm spending a lot of time at the pool/lake/beach.

I guess its about that time, so I could do it now.

Just not sure if I WANT the beard in the pic or not because that is how I normally look.

I shave before every professional photo. I'm sure plenty will disagree, but for me clean shaven is much more professional.

Keep the beard, lose the privilege.
Choice is yours.

Keep your beard and if anyone says anything act appalled and say you identify as a bear and that you're going to sue.

I wouldn't be too worried about the photo regardless.

You want the beard, keep it. Want to shave it, shave it.

If you rock the beard 90% of the time and only shave it in the summer, keep it for the pics. I'm really close to shaving mine off for a couple of months. I may just trim it down really short instead, but like you, I have a neatly trimmed beard most of the year. I always feel like a child after I shave, and then I have to deal with the upkeep of shaving every day or every other day. Much easier just to run the trimmer over it every other week.

I like to keep a very unkempt beard that hopefully says "This guy is very unimportant. I should probably never call or email him."

Santa Claus has a beard in every photo I have seen. But he also wears a suit.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a well maintained beard. You're a man for goodness sake.

Hell I'm 35 and still get carded sometimes even with a beard. I just say I'll be thankful older in life to have all my hair and look younger than I really am.
