Bear gets trapped inside SUV, honks horn all night

July 22 (UPI) -- Residents of a Colorado neighborhood thought a rude neighbor was honking a car horn all night, but they awoke to discover the culprit was a bear trapped inside an SUV.

Patrick Sullivan shared cellphone camera footage of the scene that greeted Gold Hill residents when they investigated the source of the honking Sunday morning.

The video shows a bear in the front seat of the closed SUV, leaning on the horn.

A man uses a long rope to open one of the vehicle's doors from a distance, allowing the bear to climb out and dash away.

Residents said the bear caused damage to the side panel of the car and set off the driver's side airbag.
