I agree.

It’s not the Governor, it’s the other politicians and the voters

JBE’s biggest crock of shite is the surplus he keeps running his trap about. Easy to have a surplus when you tax the frick out of people. Let me guess, the taxes ain’t going down next year since we have that big surplus?

This is sad but LA was never going to be a place of steel making. This was a mini-mill which took scrap, iron ore, coal and limestone to make steel using electricity.

The local demand for steel has decreased. For a mini-mill to be successful you need a local demand for steel. Louisiana is too close to Mexico for a mini-mill to be successful in this day and age.

what a liar. holy shite. basically all those jobs are in SWLA and were set in motion under Jindal

politicians taking credit for job/economic growth they had nothing to do with happens every time there's a good economy or job market

they all do it without a hint of irony too. it's hilarious.

He never threatened to shut any of that down. I believe he was outlining a worst case scenario in regards to the state's budget shortfall.

He said it was a worse case scenario, but was it? Instead of threatening TOPS, LSU and old people he could have relaxed nursing home rules, cut out film tax credits, cut out pork to NGOs, and made smaller tax hikes. But he didn’t.

You think DV would have been a better gov than JBE? The Steel Plant in Laplace would still be open if DV is gov?

I think Vitter would have been better, but I don’t think he would have saved the steel business.

My friend used to work for a contractor who did overhead crane inspections and he quit that job because they kept sending him there.

He said it was the most unsafe place he'd ever been. And anytime he'd report something they would ignore it.

Needless to say he isn't surprised they shut down.

So do you think a politician raising taxes during a statewide recession helps, hurts or it doesn’t matter as far as the economy goes?

We’re losing population yet we gained jobs? Interesting.

Well you might as well get used to it because you’ll have him for another term. And for the most part the Republican Party can be thanked for that.

Just curious, does your husband let you vote and if so does he tell you who to vote for?

Refresh my memory. Hadn't this company been in and out of the news for like the last decade? As I recall there was a really contentious strike that lasted a very long time?
