I keep my vacation days in the teens.
Always have some ready to go. I'm rolling over 180 hours from last year though. Max you can roll over
Come at me

Take the time while you have the time
Is being good to yourself and yours and allows others to learn in the workplace

Just out of curiosity, if you were to measure, how long would you say you are working with?

I'll never understand the people who brag about working 60+ hours a week.
Me neither. I've done it before and it sucked even if the money was good
I'm salary now so I try to work as little as possible

People bragging about having terrible lives is the strangest recurring phenomena on this board

I work 60+ hours for a good bit of the year
You'll never find me bragging about it though. in fact, it's the opposite

Anyone who brags about how much they work hates their job and life.

only your kids who will say - yeah don't really know my dad because he worked 95% of my life.

Yep, that's about when all of the Europeans I deal with disappeared. I think it was St. Crispin's day or something. Even better, none of them are back at work until next week!
Then they’ll take half the summer off. That’s one pole in this discussion; the other is the guys who work 3,000 hours per year. There is a happy medium, at which you don’t shirk work and you don’t short your family. In my opinion, that is working about 2300 to 2500 hours per year. (For most jobs)

Plant baws want everyone to know they take no time off and make 150k after only working 900 hrs of OT
Plug a divorce rate in this formula and a pregnant wife that may or may not be carrying her husbands kid and you have the formula.

Before rulers you had to actually line the dicks up side by side to get a real measurement.
Did you hear that they're not going to be making rulers any longer?

Don’t forget child support payments. That’s a key factor in OT pay

I thought it was more like joisting. Run at each other and whoever gets knocked back has the smaller dick.

Some guys can take time off, I personally need to work every hour I can. Between bills, my daughter, girlfriend, and hoping to retire one day that’s what i do but good for anyone who can take time off ( without pay) and not worry.

Back in my O&G days when I first started, I got 6 weeks vacation and worked a 9/80 schedule. It was the best. When a contractor came in to visit and asked my boss about the vacation policy and how much of it he actually took, he said 6 weeks. I also expect everyone of my employees to take 6 weeks as well.
Those were the good ole days..

if it's sustainable
It is. My sweet spot is 15 weeks. I have a small commercial construction/remodel company and average about 30k/week profit when working. I have no desire to make more than 500k a year.
