I think the top four are Zachary area, LP, Asc., and St. Tamm.

Sounds about right, but with Central's recent departure from the EBRP system, look for them to be right there!!!!!!

The class sizes in public school are smaller than private. Have you seen the class sizes at St. George? Last I heard it was close to 32 per class for K and 1st grade.

That isn't any different from a large public school. Some average around 36

you better check again, the State Diocese and individual school charters have strict limits on class sizes and student teacher ratios and 32:1 is way over the max. It is usually 26:1 is the absolute maximum allowed in a catholic school

I'm from Denham. Graduated in 06. Went to school in LP all of my life, and I had a few teachers that were terrible and couldn't teach the subject they were supposed to teach. Chemistry, physics, algebra 2. So when I got to LSU it was like starting from scratch.

Denham Springs. I can't say that all of my teachers were worthless, because I had a few that were good at what they did.

sorry supah, you're wrong here. St Jude is right at 32 and I believe St George is about the same. It is one of the drawbacks of the Private Schools.

However, that is 32 kids who are usually well behaved and focused, so it works out a little better.

You know it's like that everywhere and that sucks for you, but you have to look at the school as a whole.

You right, but as a whole, the only major problem with DS is the administration. When I was at Denham, they had two families running the school board and DSHS/DSFH. The Waxes and the Popes. So it was almost like a monopoly and if you ever had a problem in school, you were screwed because the school board would cover it up.

True. One of the biggest embarassments for the LP school board was Randy Pope who couldn't spell at a sixth grade level. He's gone now but it took way too long.
