What a bizarre structuring of the survey questions. BRPD’s end goal seems nebulous regarding what they’ll do with the data once it is compiled and aggregated.

Let’s see what this newly acquired “Consultant” who is paid over $250K per/yr by BRPD will do with the survey data and model it into a usable state

I filled it out honestly but marked myself black so they'd actually read it.

As someone who used to design these... There is no useable data which can be collected.

None.

It is intrinsically biased.

That was the worst survey I have ever taken.... the questions are made to predetermine the answers.. how are schools, libraries, liquor stores, dollar stores, furniture rentals, blighted property all on the same list.. I just dont get it... Also guess they dont care if you feel safe going to Church.

1st you have to select your neighborhood, then they ask

quote:

Please identify your perception of risk when you go to the locations below in your neighborhood.

• Apartments / Multi-family dwellings
• Auto Repair/ Service Shop
• Bank
• Bar or Nightclub
• Blight or Condemned Building
• Car Wash
• Check Cashing
• Convenience Store / Gas Station
• Daycare Center
• Department Store
• Dollar Store
• Furniture Rental
• Grocery Store
• Hospital or Health Clinic
• Housing Authority
• Laundromat
• Library
• Liquor Store
• Nail Salon
• Park
• Pawn Shop
• Pharmacy
• Post Office
• Public Transit/ Bus Stop
• Recreation Center
• Restaurant (Sitdown)
• Restaurant (Fastfood)
• School
• Thrift Store
• Shelter
• Shopping Center/ Mall
• Tourism Area

The City of Baton Rouge and the Baton Rouge Police Department are implementing programs focused on decreasing your perception of risk in your neighborhood.

They need to worry less about decreasing the "perception of risk" and worry more about decreasing the risk.

They want me to measure my risk for when I go in blighted or condemned buildings? What stat does that fall into

That was worthless. They already have the data on where crimes occur. Why do they need feelings?

Because they want an excuse not to send cops to where actual fricking crimes are happening and, instead, set up insurance checkpoints and run radar in affluent areas.

Solving any of the 100+ murders so far this year would drain resources from the department that could easily go to Murphy Paul's frickbuddy or to a connected graphic designer getting a contract for doing work that my 9 year old could improve upon.

If they want to reduce my "perception of risk", they could clean out the fricking homeless causing problems at every intersection along I-10.

If not actually doing anything about it, they could get out of the way of EBRSO doing so in their jurisdiction.

My gender that I identified with was dolphin and my marital status was looking for another dolphin.

What an absolutely waste of time survey in every way. JFC

I put all zeros for the most part because I don't go to most of the places listed?

• Blight or Condemned Building

is this a thing that people do?

We need to stick together and pick one area and really throw off the BS survey.

Yeah, it is common sense that an abandon building will likely have homeless, people on drugs, squatters, etc in the building. I guess normal people should feel safe around these areas.

Nail salons scare me as we already know the damage angry women can cause.
What normal sane man is going to say it is safe around a nail salon in the inner city?
