I remember getting what we called a "Brown Cow" from this place. It was a soft serve cone dipped in hot fudge.
I'm 73 y.o., and remember many things about B.R. that most of you aren't old enough to recall. How about the Shoppers Fair on Florida Street, or Robert Hall near the corner of Choctaw and Scenic Highway, or the Hebert store on Scenic with the sign that had "a bear" on it?

we went to Anthony at the Razors edge for many years.
Thanks for mentioning this. We went to The Razor's Edge in the mid/late 80s for haircuts. Requested the #2 blade on the sides and back for a really clean cut look. #1 blade was for "high and tight" Marine Corps look, but too short for me and my friends.
On a different note, Dad would go out and buy Mrs Winner's Chicken and Biscuits on Sunday mornings>

No. But when I was a kid my back yard directly connected to what is now the LSU Arboretum.

I do not.
But there was a small shoe repair/cleaner place just a few steps off of Govt. called Rosenburg's or something similar.....guy who owned it was an ex-con Christian re-born man who could make your white bucs look brand new again.

Tic Toc was a shoe store. It was in Westmoreland Shopping Center next to the A&P Food Store. It was owned by Nathan Fisher the criminal defense attorneys parents. D.H. Holmes was on the other side of it.
Piccadilly was on the other side of the shopping center and Young Fashions was next to it with Western Auto on the end.
Just across Acadian on the same side as Tic Toc I. H. Rubensteins who also had a big store next to the Broadmoor Theater. Wesley’s was next door to the theater and Broadmoor Barber shop and Rod Couvillion and Tommy Pomaris (sp) cut my hair as a little kid. Wesley’s had a great chopped beef Pooh.

Steinberg's and that huge stuffed polar bear. I loved going there as a kid.

Shopper’s Fair is the store where BRCC is now. After Shopper’s Fair closed, it was the Flea Market. Globe was across Florida at the corner of Ardenwood if my memory is correct. And next door to it was Wilson’s/Service Merchandise.

I lived there from 1978 - 1991. Then Oak Hills for a few years before moving away from Louisiana.

I did catch about a thousand giant bluegill from the lake in Iberville Terrace. All 3 neighborhoods were connected and we would ride our bikes everywhere. Oak Hills was the nicest if the 3.
