Agreed. I’d like to see the carriers send better regional jets though. It seems a lot of the planes i’ve flown out on were pretty old with worn out interiors

I can't speak much positive or negative about the decor, because the only comparable size airports I've commercially flown out of were Shreveport and Monroe and BR is nicer but that's a low bar. They layout, however, is really nice and convenient.
Odd thing is, I went to a conference at Alexandria's airport and it was surprisingly VERY nice for such a small airport (less than half the enplanements than KBTR) in such a shite town.

If I recall, the terminal was built in the early 90s when the DoD turned over control of England AFB to Alexandria.
The city did a real nice job with it.

I've flown to many regional airports and BTR actually is one of the nicer ones. It is not saying much, but most other regional airports suck with no amenities at all.
