A lot of black people (myself included) voted for Sid. It's time for a change in BR.

Policitics shouldn't be divided on racial lines. I feel like we should be past that in 2024 man.

I thought Kip was a decent mayor.

Kip was actually a pretty good mayor. He realized the importance of having a thriving downtown and tried hard to make that happen. He knew that BR would never be Austin or Portland, but it could be a better version of itself. Sadly, Broome undid all of Kip's hard work in her first term in office.

shite man, I thought Kip was a decent mayor. Broome was a disaster. We just want common sense leaders. Hopefully he can at least do

Kip wasn’t perfect, but things were much better and EBR was much better off when he was in charge.

Southern played for the SWAC Championship, hopefully those fans didn’t vote

Boxscore says 23k attendance. Game was at JSU so i assume mostly JSU fans.

Agreed. Hopefully Sid will improve this place. We all know what we'd get with another Broome term. Kip at least loved the city and tried to improve things. I think that's the least we should expect from the new mayor.

All of our people need to understand that what is good for one neighborhood is good for our parish. You can not treat one area like a step child and put other areas ahead of everyone else.

And law and order is best for everyone. A fair justice system is best for everyone. Having nice parks, libraries and the like doesn’t matter if the streets aren’t safe.

Sharon Broome was elected as the President of the National League of Cities in mid- November.

She had to win this reelection to keep that position.

Edited to add that Joe Burrow's hometown Mayor from Athens, Ohio assumes the President role, I believe.

Just like LSU away games. You grill and chill all day at home, at a friends, or a restaurant.

We went and voted for Sid this morning because how can he be worse? If you live in EBR, this election will probably affect your life more than Trump/Kamala. I'm glad to see Broome's policies being rejected at least.
