I'm pretty sure the little smartass that tailgated and then flew by me in Madisonville while he was in a JPSO unit was just house-hunting, though. He also lacked the balls to stop after I pulled over, so there's that.

Nobody should tailgate but I doubt balls had anything to do with what you described.

I happen to know a couple that fit the OP description, and I wouldn't describe them as "good smart police officers", at least by their off-duty actions.

You.

The point is moot.

This is a huge reason BR pays for this vehicle and the officers time.
When BR people need officers to respond to an incident they don't have the manpower. I guess BR people should be happy that their tax dollars are at work in Livingston Parish.

When we parked our units they were in a lot where they went to service.

When we were off the clock the unit was parked.
No running redlights in livingston parish so you can go to.wal mart with the wife in the front seat.
Best one is a brpd officer using his cruiser to haul 2x4 lumber on the roof.
Yes somebody needs to let officer boudreaux know the cruisers are not waterproof. Maybe he thought he had a duck boat.

Most common incident is turning lights on at a redlight, almost causing an accident, and finally pulling up to franks restaurant to eat with buddies in prairieville.

Glad brpd putting units to good use.

I think the city needs to look at how many accidents officers get into off duty and then maybe the units will get parked after shift.

What the frick are you talking about?!

ETA: you're just rambling on and on about some stuff you may or may not have seen all the while making broad assumptions and not backing anything up with facts. You still haven't said what the amazing PD was that you had the pleasure of working for

Bert Macklin drives his cruiser any where he wants.

However some times Bert will throw tree fitty down for gas.

The way he said it. One of the biggest and the other comments lead me to believe he may have been Dallas PD. That's one where the cops are all chest puffing about how great they are.
And they are paid well.

I can tell you from living there that Plano,TX PD is well paid, well mannered, and hard as hell to get on the force there.

liberal cops on the force

Liberal cops are just like liberal professors. Best left in the classroom to talk about how the world should be. If a liberal professor gets a real job he usually fails and liberal cops usually get themselves or their partners hurt.

Unless we are traveling to training in my department we would be fired for this. If you are on vacation or will be on sick leave for more than 3 weeks you have to bring your car to the shop. Looks like this Sheriff is a lot looser than others. I have met a lot of Sheriff's like this and they think they own the county and can do whatever they wish. It is a waste of taxpayers money no doubt.

I worked for one of the larger depts in california?

Hint
Who 's book did brpd use on their swat team to learn riot control training in the 1990's when chief Ledouf ran the team?

The book came directly from.our experience dealing large riots.

We have no idea. Most of us are too educated and smart to be cops.

Damn, that guy has a lot of hate for the BRPD. He grew up here, too. Wonder why he went out to work in L.A.?
