But how many of the departed do any of you actually know? It a tree falls in the woods and no one is there, does it make a sound?
They are just numbers an a wall. They are not real.

More murders in an attempt to make the record stand and to make any further reductions in murders next year seem like an accomplishment?

We had some posters who knew that lady that was murdered in her driveway in Sherwood a few years ago. My mom had a friend from church murdered at a Brec park around that time too.

Agreed.
I’m not even in the city proper right now but I can’t fricking wait until I can leave the area permanently.

Every one that dies means one less person in the checkout line at Walmart.

Another one?

A deadly double-shooting occurred Monday, resulting in one death and one injury, sources say. Authorities were called to the 9900 block of Airline Highway, which is the Holiday Inn hotel's parking lot.

We are at 137 as of right now. The suicide half of the murder-suicide won't count towards the homicide count.

That Holiday Inn shooting looks like it will be 138. I heard we may also have 139 but not sure yet.

Yeah stuff like this is just going to further erode BR's tax base. Even people moving to AP & LP does that but I suspect a lot of productive citizens will just leave the state altogether.
I used to think this board exaggerated this too much but BR will mostly likely end up being another Jackson, MS with LSU a few miles from downtown.

There is always a lot of riff raff at those motels right around Airline and I-12.

Indeed. But 9am on a Monday seems extreme even for BR. It’s crazy to see the number steadily ticking upward at this rate.

The city and the legislative black caucus fricking over an ISD for St George was basically the death knell for the region.
If people aren’t staying in EBR and businesses in and around EBR are starting to flee, that decline is going to accelerate.
Going about all of this in a way guaranteed to piss people off also made a St George vote happen and will guarantee a financial apocalypse for BR when it goes through. BRPD is bleeding cops now and will continue to do so as their funding goes away.

There are areas of this town where the placement of mercenaries would be a good option.

Airline and I-12.
A lifetime ago in the early to mid 90’s we would walk from celebration station to that McDonald’s next to Don Carter’s bowling. Never had to worry one bit about our safety. Our parents would pick us up once we called them at Don Carter’s.
Again, I know this was literally a lifetime ago

Y’all were in a wonderland.
Lots of drugs and hookers in those hotels even back then.

True, but it also remains true that the violence associated with that criminal element tends to be confined to those involved in it.
