Baton Rouge Advocate - worst website in America?

Absolute crap. I just had a full page pop up ad, exited out of it, just to have another one under it. Clicked the x and went to scroll down. The scroll was locked until another full page pop up came up. Absolute garbage.
Why do they refuse to make it a working website?
This is on an iPhone, by the way

It's virtually an unusable mine field of ads. Can't stand it.

The advocate went to complete and total shite once the manships kids took over. It was a good company with a family environment until the old man stepped aside. The kids are fricking worthless.

I realize that but that's only been for a few years. It went to shite 10+ years ago when he let the kids run the place and run it they did, into the ground
I grew up around there. My mom and step dad were both 30+ year employees of the Advocate.

quote:It blows my mind how ridiculous the ads are. Its like an ad every 3 sentences and then a pop up and then a video. I avoid clicking all advocate links.

It's horrible. Are there any other BR news sites out there?

The website was still readable up until Georges bought it. Those bullshite ads started popping up a couple of years ago.
When I realize someone links them I close it immediately. I used to read the site daily before they started pulling that crap.

1000x yes.
I hate them. I quit taking the print version also. It's no longer journalism, just ads and bias.

My favorite is the pop-up with no option to close it. You have to close the Safari browser completely.

I just went to it on my ASUS phone and no problems.

Man, it's terrible. It's practically unusable. So many ads, one after the other. I think like 30% of the page is not an ad.

I think it sucks and so does the Times Picayune. It looks like the writers just rewrite articles from others sites. They don't bother doing research and the articles are badly written and often full of mistakes.
I use Mozilla Firefox which is wonderful for blocking all those annoying ads and pop-ups.
