When we can go over a month without senseless people targeting innocents in our country I will believe you.
That's not a new thing. Innocent people have been getting murdered for 200+ years

Yeah and I saw the one where he wanted to make it clear he's not associated with any group or cause.
Still didn't get the sense of someone capable of this or someone that would actually do the things he spoke of.

Actually since the beginning of time.

As an innocent American who goes about his business every day, I've never felt more vulnerable in my lifetime. between the racial tension, cop killing, ISIS, our next president.
I'm fine when criminals are killing each other, but this is clearly different & I don't really care what your stats say. If innocent people are being mowed down randomly & not consistently then it isn't going to show in the crime numbers. It doesn't mean it's safe

Yeah, at that point someone states they have an inside police source who told themwhen they find a gun, they will be asking, and I quote, "Is it registered", I pretty much can't take anything else they say seriously.

Did you pay the extra $20 and get your permit to carry in your glove compartment?

had to pay $35 for the under steering column permit

I can't tell you how to feel. But the fact that you feel vulnerable isn't really a sign of America's impending doom. IMHO.

No. I keep my extended "clips" in the glove box... so I can't keep the pistol in there too. You have to keep the gun and the ammo separate unless you're over 50 miles from a school.

Pretty sure the homicide rate including firearm homicide is the lowest in 30 years, maybe longer.
So not sure what your point is.

quote:I doubt this whole deal is true, but if it were I can see the department stressing to be on the lookout for these items in every "citizen encounter" and taking a wide interpretation of what constitutes probable cause and reasonable suspicion.
So why don't you ask him how they plan on doing that
It would all get chunked in court, but they'd still get any illegal guns and the it would take a few days for the courts to stop the whole deal, during which they could produce a chilling effect on anyone toting around town.
Since there are relatively few repercussions from this that they could suffer personally (what judge will throw them in the clink for contempt at this point?), what's to stop them from doing it?

I'm not saying America is doomed. I'm simply saying with the senseless killing of innocent people, no one is safe.
I'd rather consistent criminal vs criminal crime than the random killing of innocent people.
The latter surely won't put a dent in crime statistics. It's not happening every day but certainly more frequent then in recent history.

It depends on where you live Lester. There is a vast part of this country where crime is at a very low rate and always has been.
