Clearly what you're looking for is the Cadillac Cafe

Any ideas for bars where LSU students can hang out? Not looking for anything like Tigerland. Preferably somewhere where a couple guys can go have endearing debate on theoretical physics, politics, or religion over a few beers. Somewhere to have good conversation in a classy environment. Also would prefer a mostly college crowd.

Most bars in Baton Rouge are 21 and up for good reason, to keep the idiot undergrads out.

Outside of Tigerland, The Spanish Moon is one of the few decent bars that let in the 18 year old crowd.

There's an app called Grindr that helps you find classy bars where you can have sophisticated conversations

I watched a midget knock himself out with a frying pan for $5 there. Never laughed harder.

Or even The Cove. It might not be mostly college students but it's a cool bar
yeah in all honesty the cove sounds like what you are looking for. A chill place with a great beer selection

Both The Cove and Radio Bar are 21 and up, same as The Bulldog and all of the bars downtown.

Chelsea's and Northgate Tavern used to be good bars that allowed the 18 year-olds in, but they've both gone the way of the doe-doe.

Probably the only place with decent beer that allows 18 year olds in at night would be some place that's also a restaurant like Barcadia, Curbside, The Chimes, etc.

Corporate Brew & Draft might let you in, but you're not getting booze without a fake id, and the place is usually completely empty (same goes for Port Royal).

Honestly, the best places you could go would be the BYOB shows at Atomic Pop Shop and Mid City Ballroom.
