Yes, that was the end ofthe line. 1971 was the beginning of the end.

top goes down, price goes up. I don’t necessarily agree with it but the person that paid 150k surely does.

I agree. It looks like there is lots of money there, so I would say they do well. I don't know much about them, so this will be interesting.

Hey Captain. Just tuned in myself. Been going back trying to catch up. Looks like people are spending money so far.

Hard to believe the LT-1 dropped from 370HP in'70 to 255 in '72.

'72 is when they switched from gross HP rating to SAE...much of the reason the figured dropped.

I see the tight pants are back.

ETA those 360s sold for more than I would’ve guessed.

Lower compression, non-performance heads, milder camshafts were the main reasons. But yes, the hp was measured differently.

This is true along with the compression ratio that dropped as well. 11:1 to 9:1

Those factory fives were intriguing. A mid engine LS 427 would be a blast. I never heard of those until tonight.

No doubt, the beginning of the end... At least for a while.

Haven't driven it in a while to be honest. But everything (bumpers, trim, etc) has been removed and ready for paint in the next couple months.

What about yours, any winter projects?

Actually no. It did well in a few shows this past fall. Haven't driven it much in the last couple of months.
Helped a friend with a 65 purchase last Nov. Beautiful car. Same old story, owner was too old to take care of it and it was time to let it go. I'll be there one day too.
