Question to the car folks here. Bought my dream car a few months ago. 1950 Ford Custom (Shoebox). Keep the original Flathead V8 or go with a modern motor (5.0 Coyote or One of the newer Mustang EcoBoost motors)? Just curious what others feel.

Your choice. Personally, love the old school stuff and keeping the flathead is a nice touch...you can hop it up some, flatheads are cool...but it's your car, do what turns your crank!

That green GTX that went for over 100k was an awesome car, admittedly I'm a Mopar guy though. Seeing "muscle" cars that are post 72 being sold off as classics is still kind of funny to me, back in the day no one wanted anything to do with them, for good reason.

The tough part is having someone who can work on a Flathead and do it right. It’s not the easiest motor to keep up and if I’m taking long road trips and something happens I can’t just run to a Napa or Autozone and get a replacement part and be back on my way.
That being said, I’m probably keeping the Flathead and upgrading what I can on it.

Some of these prices seem high. I can watch this stuff all night like a mental patient.

Its funny how the majority of people who have the money and want these cars are all 60+.

Makes sense. Not too many people below 40 have 100 grand to blow on a car lol

Yeah, and they wouldn't even want most of these cars if they could.
These guys are probably buying cars they used to wish they could own when they were in high school.

I'd rather have the Cougar than the 1972 LT-1. Oh a florida fan bought it. That makes sense.
Jones, are you there?

Hard to believe the LT-1 dropped from 370HP in'70 to 255 in '72.
