Getting tired of watching these restomod Vettes going across the block. I can't figure out why people are paying so much for them.
Posted on 1/29/16 at 9:28 pm to NewIberiaHaircut
we were talking about that earlier in this thread. they have been going for 150-300K for the last few years. i think its absurd and kind of sad at the same time. i like original.

I get it, but I don't get the crazy $$$ for the MOPARS.
Those Vettes are popular because you can get in and drive across country in them yet have the classic style. Only thing vintage is the body and interior. It has a new frame and entire suspension and drivetrain is from a new Vette.

Never thought I would see that much for a restomod...
ETA: (no offense to Restomod

I understand but I don't see how that is worth so much money. It also gets boring that just about everyone of them has a LS engine. I know they are dependable, easy to work on, and have a small footprint but they definitely lose some originality points to me.

No I agree, that's ludicrous.

As far as "worth" I can see the $75-150k cars depending on the build, but beyond being a Riddler winner I don't see $300k.
The LS/LSX is now what the SBC was for the last 50yrs.
I respect originality for what it is, but driving old original cars are uninspiring from a trill perspective IMO.

This.
They handle like shite, the build quality was so-so, and they rattle.
Kinda like that stripper you bring home and see the next morning:
"I don't remember you looking like that..."

No Ford F250s in that lot?
Don't see any information about extended warranty options on any of these cars at auction.

There was a terrible 2000 F-150 that went for $200k last night. It was a charity car, but still.

Posted on 1/30/16 at 2:46 pm to CaptainsWafer
got about 55 cars to go. maybe 3-4 hours or so. plenty of 100K cars already going.

Looks like sellers are doing well today.

theyre killing it. got a 67 shelby gt 350 super snake coming up in a minute but these commercial breaks are getting out of hand
Posted on 1/30/16 at 3:14 pm to Deactived
Yeah, I saw it on the docket. It ought to bring out some serious bidders. ditto on the commercials.
Ended negotiations on the 62 I was trying to get this morning. Owner was asking more than I thought it was worth. He said he had someone ready to buy and I told him to take the money and run. Win some, lose some, there are others.
