Getting tired of watching these restomod Vettes going across the block. I can't figure out why people are paying so much for them.
Imo its the best of both worlds. You get a gorgeous classic vette with the reliability and power of a new vette.

Turbosonic dragster looks like a lawndart with wheels. Probably tries to fly like one too.
Jones eta: 62 vette. Nothing special, base model. We were 5K apart.

Nice. Ive always dreamed of getting a split window
Posted on 1/30/16 at 3:38 pm to Deactived
The 63 split window is out of my range. I don't think I could convince the wife it is just a 'hobby car'.

I'm out of the house until like 6/630 just didn't want to miss them.

got about 37-38 cars before them. one charity car(the bandit) which usually takes 10 minutes or so.
one thing that will help is that there are 25 salon cars before the vettes and those bids last a little longer
the first two salon cars are the optimus prime truck and the bumble bee car right after it

I can see him throwing out bids on it. I wouldnt be surprised if some internet buyer gets it. I dont even know what to think they will go for. 1 mil? 1.5?
Maybe Ron Pratte will fall in from the rafters for his grand reappearance and buy them
That custom vette just now looked great
SMokey and the Bandit coming up at 4pm

Easily, if some big players jump in.
I could see Ron really being tempted and he will come back one day, but I'm not sure he is ready yet.
The black vette was cool, first time I've seen that hood fitted on a C1.

Yea I guess it just depends on the bidders and how many there are. 3 committed bidders can get it to outrageous amounts.
Optimus Prime. I mean what the hell do you do with this thing

I guess you could make it a beer hauler for PJ.

word. i think the next car is what will bring the real money from these movie cars. the fact that its a semi eliminates 99% of the bidders that have the money
Posted on 1/30/16 at 4:22 pm to Deactived
Don't like the hood or the wheels.
Pratte hasn't shown up at all yet? Why'd he end up selling his cars, and did he sell them all or downsize?

Did Ron sneak in the back door?

he sold all of them. rumor was he knew the bubble would be bursting soon so he got out. sold them all last year for 40 something million
Posted on 1/30/16 at 4:27 pm to Traveler
So the buyers of these outrageous prices. Do they ever get them out and drive them on public roads? Can't imagine with all the distracted drivers on the road, taking a $100K 50 year old corvette and running it down a country road with a bunch of drunk rednecks.
