I had a client that moved all of his accounts to a black owned bank in Baton Rouge. He drives from Hammond to BR for his bank for the sole purpose. Personally I think it's a ridiculous idea. Pick a local bank in your community to use and stick with them.

I encourage black businesses to cater to black customers and black customers to shop only at black businesses. Either the businesses will fail from having to deal with shitty customers, or the businesses will succeed, and everyone else won't have to deal with shitty customers

Great idea to put your money in a black bank. I definitely want everyone in the bank hearing about my money when they walk around with the Bluetooth earpiece talking about my shite.

Like welfare, food stamps, and subsidized housing? Or do you mean the lack of locally owned businesses means that spending takes place at major corporations?
I sincerely wish these people who are trying to improve these communities the best of luck, but the reality is that the second people in the inner city find prosperity, they split for greener pastures. I can't blame them for that.
I left my home town to improve my opportunities. I can't blame anyone that does the same.

These banks are very small and referred to as community banks. The only way most of them make money is buying other loans. They represent a small drop in a small bucket.

GRAVY and his bandwagon will not live to see what pipe dream he is after.
Blacks can make millions of dollars unlike 5- years ago. Start realizing the dream is happening...but yu want to make black pride come back, Gravy? Pass out birth control in 70805 and 70802. That;ll fix it. Maybe we can even get these would-be moms into college and career paths instead of taking the OBVIOUS "I am black and went to public school and live in Section 8...and my mom was 15 when she had me...so let me continue the cycle."

The only thing I respect about you is that you are apparently a good father and not some hood cat that sleeps around and has 4 kids with 3 women. BUT how, Gravy, do you stick up for that? It;s whitey's fault that black women cannot keep their legs closed and move away from LA Purchase cards?
Stop sympathizing with people because they have your skin color and be a wake up call to this LARGE group of people (who cost the tax payer money) and call the out on their shite, Gravy. Quit looking for white victims to blame.
