Baltimore Mayor To City: Please Stop Shootings Need the Hospital Beds For Coronavirus

Politics aside: How humiliating is this for the Mayor?

What the mayor says makes perfect sense. I don’t see why any reasonable criminal would commit violent acts after a plea like that.
Young is addressing this now because of Tuesday’s mass shooting that left seven injured. The Baltimore City police department is following the lead of other departments across the country by easing up on arrests for non-violent offenses out of fear that an outbreak could spread through facilities and sicken both inmates and staff. That said, things are going to get bumpy before it straightens out.
