Asia is a lot cheaper. You could stay at nice hotels for the price of hostels in europe(or even less). Eating is cheaper in Asia too.
Though my brother backpacked for three months in Europe after college and said it was the time of his life, and got to 26 countries.

I was with 3 other bros and it go to the point where it was like "Are those my boxers" cuz we'd just unload shite on our hostel beds and it would naturally get mixed.

You do shite over there you'd never do here, thats for sure.

We washed cloths in a sink and hung them on a drying line in some poor bastards kitchen.

fricking peanut butter. Does not exist in Europe.

Cannot tell you how excited I was to arrive at the Memphis Airport and crush BBQ with the $30 I had left to my name.

That was after 3 "Mom, I fricked up" calls too.

Bring a lot more money than you'd ever thought you need. It goes faster than it will once you're married.

Guess I'll give it a whirl then.

I had come up with this technique of rolling my boxer briefs and/or socks and lining them around the "arc" of my backpack instead of packing them flat at the bottom.

Was pretty proud of myself for that idea.

My first time to Europe was a 3 week legal class in Rhodes, Greece.

I dropped 500 euro the first week. I was getting hammered every night on Bar street. I think the Euro was at least 1.42 USD to euro at that point. Woof.

There's some bad advice about Asia in this thread. If you're looking for awesome beaches, cheaper trip, and want to experience a different culture do some research on south east Asia. Language barrier isn't that big of a deal and I never felt like it was dangerous for the 4 months I back packed there. You probably will get sick (stomach problems) at some point in the trip though. If you're not an experienced traveler, Europe would probably be easier and the safer bet for a honeymoon.

Europe. It's safer and help is nearer and more reliable should you need it.

For sure dude. They need to save Asia for later.

It's like taking your gf on a canoe trip for the first time. It's a damn good way to break the F up.

Travelling is no different, direction arguments, if you mess up once, you're full on beta, it could be disaster forever for the poor chap.

Stick to Europe this time around, although SE Asia is my next destination in 2016. But I'm alpha AF, would beat down any chinamen trying to front me/my girl and I actually don't have a girl so its all good.

shite, I'd be more scared in some of the seedier parts of Europe than Asia tbh. We experienced some major bullshite a couple times in El Gotica in Barcelona. Nothing I'd call "dangerous" but it could have escalated easily.

My now wife was fine in India as we had a driver the whole time, but Barcelona was humorous to look back on.

We fly over, and of course she is tired and just wants to get to the hotel. First problem, the Aerobus ticket machine didn't like my CC, but I eventually got my Debit card to work, so she's amped a bit.

Bus stops at Placa Catalunya and my wife is asking me which way the hotel is. I know La Rambla comes off the Placa and used maps a ton before going, but when you are on the ground and the road signs are on the buildings its pretty hard to determine which artery is the one you need.

I think I yelled something about not being a human GPS and just picked a direction. Eventually got my bearings. She realizes now its was pretty ridiculous to expect me to know which way to go 30 seconds off the bus.

Barca can be SUPER sketch and very damn confusing. Once we got the train figured out, we were good, but besides Rome, it felt like the craziest, most hectic city for sure.

And there's a shite ton of swindlers/smeagles all over that place.

We got lucky and finally met some legit Spaniards to take us around but there's a shite ton of immigrant types that will try and F with you.

It's a must see, but it was not one of my favorite places by any means.

Prague, Austria and Germany were my jams. And then of course when we ran with the bulls.

Ya, my wife had picked up a purse or something, so she put the nice one with her things under her jacket (it was December) and put the "snatch purse" on the outside with nothing in it. I thought that was pretty clever.

Got a buddy who is just dying to run the bulls, but in our 30s probably not gonna happen at this juncture. Can't even put out the statistics of goring to convince anyone.

I've looked at this thread title a couple of times and thought op was asking for advice on using backpages in Asia versus Europe.

Just going is worthwhile TBH. You meet enough Aussie experts, you'll get the balls to do it. Just gotta do your research.

Hang out in the arena and watch the bull fights too.

Ya, I would have watched the bull fights in Seville but it was out of season. Same thing for cricket in India unfortunately.

I like doing a sporting event of some sort for the experience. Watched FC Barcelona play Real Madrid in basketball. Was rowdy.

Excited to see Muay Thai in Bangkok.

This is basically all I can think about of myself in Thailand next year. Surely it will be like this right?

Just like in Animal house, my friends and I basically went into every situation with the attitude "THEY LOVE US".
