The unmarked or ghost graphic cars are road pirates.

I got a ticket in Sorrento like this. The speed limit goes from 55 to 45 and there is a small stretch where it is 45 before it goes back up to 55. I was going 62. The car was parked on the other side of a sign. Small town mayors love to feel important, so the next day coming home from work, I stopped by the mayors office, fed him some bullshite and he waivered the ticket for me. When I was leaving he told me "Come back anytime.. Next time we can order lunch". It wasn't at all lunch time and had no idea how lunch related to anything, but I told him I would take him up on it.. And never did.

So if you ever get one like this in a small town, go talk to the mayor.

I am not fan of cops. But I can’t stand reckless speeding frickers either. In this case, when there are 2 shitheads I don’t like, I side with the cops pulling idiots over to collect revenue. I love seeing reckless assholes pulled over and a-hole cops taking their money. If you can’t drive the speed limit or within a couple of mph , I say frick your low IQ lack of control self.

Or, hide their marked cars behind signs, buildings, and shrubs to run radar / laser and pull people over?

Use Waze and report their arses so others on the road see them, and for the non Waze people flash your headlights as a courtesy to oncoming cars that a cop is ahead. Just don’t do it to another cop.

Some of the police do get wise and either move when they realize traffic is now moving at speed or less or they go delete the Waze icon by saying they are not there anymore.

Agreed. Being present is more effective than being hidden at getting people to slow down.

What cracks me up is the EMS and fire trucks with the stealthy markings.

ghost graphic cars

I am puzzled by this. Try to hide the car but cover it with red and blue lights.
Back in my day as a patrol sergeant I would tell the officers that there is no quota. But a good rule of thumb…..

If you ever wonder whether the purpose is safety or revenue generation, set up a few hundred yards ahead of a speed trap with a sign that says “For safety’s sake, please slow down” and see what happens.
