not all "classic" names have a meaning when parents bestow them on their children. Sometimes the clasic name is what the parents just thinks is cool. Use a fmily name if you want it to have meaning. it is possible to name your son something you think sounds cool without naming him LaBlackatron.

I'm ecstatic that we are having a boy, but it seems like a girl would be more fun to find a name for.

We were thinking of Naomie for a girl, that's a solid biracial name.

Frankly (hah!), no boy should go by the name of Frances. If you're going to go this route go whole hog - Francesco.

I don't love it as a girl name either, although I have liked every Frances I have ever met (two).

tend to think a boy's name should sound like it could belong to a president or a civil war general.

I agree to a point, but I'm Italian so that won't work for me

I know a couple that named their baby girl Ruby. I like it. Haven't heard that name in a while.

We named our daughter Shea. It's not very common, but not a name that was made up or unheard of. We have a longer last night so we wanted a short first name for her.

The only thing I don't like about it is that people mispronounce it sometimes...they will say She-uh.
