No one but tweens girls look at the top 40. As much or more good music is being made today, you just can't be a lazy frick waiting to be spoonfed to find it.

Don't get me wrong, I like some disco, especially after I've had some drugs. But choosing them as exemplars of 70s quality music? lulz

God I hate having access to all of the music in the history of the world at my fingertips. It sucks so bad.

The premise is kinda dumb considering they have their choice of any music that came before if they like. Just like I had the option (and took it) to listen to Son House, Charlie Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Leadbelly, and Robert Johnson.

My generation got Mötley Crüe-

Queen-

AC/DC-

Duran Duran-

Flock of Seagulls-

Blondie-

Rick Astley-

MJ (before he got caught diddling little kids)-

Warrant-

And the Numa Numa guy-

Damn... what a run that was.

Meanwhile, Generation X changed the world and never gets involved in the discussion.

I completely disagree. The prepubescent look just doesn't do it for me. Plus, women these days are about 40-60 pounds heavier than they were in the past.

Neither did boomers.
What ideas do Millennials have for righting the ship.
Make everything free?

There's merit to this line of thinking but the real reason is the death of Buddy Holly and the British Invasion.
