2nd grade my friend’s dad took us to mid south at the municipal auditorium. We met Dugan in the parking lot after. Signed autographs for us and said “want me to show you how to body slam somebody?” My friend said yes, and Dugan picked him up, held him straight over his head, turned around a few times then slow-mo’d him onto the ground.
One of those memories that has stuck with me forever.

BTW, Duggan looks like the wrestler you least want to get in a real fight with....
Met him randomly at a comic con in New Orleans. Turned the corner and there he was. I was excited as hell to meet him and he and his wife were super friendly. I’m a pretty big dude (both in height and stature) and he was just massive compared to me. His hands were like catchers mitts. Just engulfed mine when we shook hands.

I used to go to the shows at the Centroplex in BR. The crowd was pretty well controlled except for 2 incidents I saw.
The first was after a match where a heel (maybe Buck Robley??) had a long walk to the dressing room. He got mobbed by fans on his way out and like Duggan said, he just kept moving forward and made it to safety.
The second incident was during a match where Skandar Akbar was seated at ringside while managing. A guy in the front row picked up his metal chair, folded it flat, and launched it over his head at Akbar. The chair hit Akbar at the base of his neck and he fell forward onto his hands and knees. Got heeeem!!

The best entertainment was the old ladies that sat ringside yelling and screaming at the heels.
Freebirds vs JYD was the best ever.

The thing about Duggan was that he could actually work - he was a helluva wrestler in Mid South. Vince turned him in to a cartoon character.

Cause he got arrested with Iron Sheik with pot and coke. Vince fires him, then rehired him 3 months later. But Vince never allowed him to continue to climb the stardom ladder. Freaking shame.
