The U.S. national average price of gasoline is set to soon fall below $3 per gallon for the first time since 2021, amid lower seasonal demand and a decline in international oil prices, according to fuel platform GasBuddy.
Over the last week, the U.S. national average price fell for the second consecutive week and was at $3.07 per gallon early on Monday, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
The national average price is now down by 12.9 cents from a month ago and 39.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

The U.S. is likely to see the average U.S. gas prices fall below $3 per gallon in the next 7-12 days if the current bearishness on oil markets holds, Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said today.

“While many Americans may incorrectly credit the upcoming election for the declines, politicians have little influence over the strong seasonal forces that drive prices lower in autumn,” De Haan wrote today.
“With winter gasoline soon to reach the rest of California, and demand continuing to decline as Americans grapple with colder weather, the drop in demand is pushing gas prices down — not politicians on either side, as much as they might like to think they do.”
De Haan expects the drop in gasoline prices will continue into and even beyond the presidential election.

Conveniently right before the election next Tuesday!
Building Back Better is working!
They’re manipulating gas prices to stop Trump!
This means Trump is going to win, and we’ll have $1.50 gasoline soon again!
Crawfish prices?

Everyone complains about gas prices when they go up but rarely do you hear anyone saying anything positive about gas prices when they do down.

So the political decision to empty the federal reserve had no impact?

Slick wording. Prices are still up $1 IMO

Still $5 in California. We had $3 gas when Trump was in office.

Biden trolled everyone who put those "I did that" stickers on all the gas pumps

Mortgage rates are still over 7 percent and have been on the rise. Haven’t heard much talk about this lately though

Prices are dropping because it's looking like a Trump win and he's all about drilling and pumping baby. They'll be a glut in the market and prices will plummet even more! Then the oil companies will stop pumping because they'll be losing money, supply will dry up, then prices will go up and, wait...

It's almost like its an election year. Like the third world countries that lose electricity for 2 hours per day except in an election year. All of a sudden the grid can handle the loads. Who knew

And also, KSA said they are going to flood the market because they want to put Russia out of business.

Refined product market prices are not moving in speculation of an upcoming election. Leases, sure. They’re far more speculative than refined global commodity prices.

Well that's stupid. We're producing more oil than ever. And that's not how the oil market works.
