think Charlie could have done it?
Doubt it.
Charlie was at Corcoran at the time where I understood it took four guards daily to watch over him during his yard time just to keep him alive.

Those aren’t really average guys either

The average man is out of shape and has no little to no fighting skills

my only real experience with this situation is average male basketball players vs elite women basketball players. There was a huge athletic gap between men and women on that sport, and i would say a decent high school high school team would destroy a girls team. Based on that information, I would say an average 5'10" 195lb male which is the average male in the usa, in the prime of his life would have about a 30 second window at the beginning of the fight where he would have a substantial clear advantage. After that if they went to the ground, the advantage would go to Rousey.
I think the guy wins 6 out of 10 times. If the male has ever taken any form of wrestling or boxing, rousey loses 9 out of 10 matches.

Minimal experience
No way.

have friends that think they can beat Rhonda in a fight just because they are males. Would a guy with an average build (say, 5'9", 175lbs)with minimal fighting experience stand a chance against Rhonda?
Your friends are blithering idiots. Rousey is a supremely conditioned combat sport athlete with extensive training and experience in competitive fighting.
Yes, she would get her clock cleaned with any comparable (and, typically, even significantly smaller) male combat sport athletes. Yes, she would have trouble with an amateur (who otherwise kind of knows what he is doing) male who is fit, strong and on the largish size, say over 6'1" and over 220 pounds, just because of gross mass, strength/weight ratio, etc.
Having said all of that, she would seriously kick the shite out of you and any of your friends in the 5'9", 175 pound range.
Probably 3 or 4 at once, truth be known.

I'm somewhat impressed by this thread. It's been done a few times on the MSB, and 95% of those guys think they could dismantle her. I mean, yeah, D1 lineman or wrestler would overpower her. But not the average guy on the street.
I used to be a D1 athlete and 5 three minutes BJJ grappling rounds made me feel like I was dying. A lot of my opinion is for that.
Ronda isn't great on her feet, but an average guy who got in a few fights when he was younger can't exploit that. Judo technique lets her take most people down just because it focuses on using someone's weight against them and most average guys have no clue how to defend.
Once on the ground, even if a bigger guy is strong enough to power out of a few subs, she can go for 5 minutes and the average guy is gassed. The biggest chance an average guy has, IMO, is landing a shot on her while on the ground, but that's also the hardest way to have actual KO power.

Rhonda Rousey would frick up the average man. First of all, the average man isn't in that great of shape.. And he doesn't have the skill set that she has.
That's like saying "I can beat that person in a video game I never played because I am much stronger than them".

I should have just said she would win. A bronze medal judo champion will beat an untrained man any day.

Remember when the MSB thought Rousey could take Mayweather down? Those were fun times.

A decent high school athlete would do better than a grown man with desk job.
