Unfortunately, newer cars don't have a traditional radiator cap where you could empty some if needed to get adequate concentration of antifreeze

Fortunately newer cars aren't old pieces of shite which are surely the vehicles that will have issues.

And surely those same vehicles will have issues anyway. Because they are old or pieces of shite.

Different set up down here.

Cities are built for floods and rain. Raised houses with exposed pipes and open vented attics Power lines not set up for ice, roads are turtle backed so water runs off. With freezing, pipes burst, lines go down and roads are undrivable if ice gets on them, cars slide off.

Correct and its also different weather.

Like a difference of monthly temperatures and weekly storms compared to 24 hours of it.....

Its more likely going to be shitty cars and unmaintained houses that get issues.

I’d make sure it is not in a position to have wind blowing across the radiator the whole time. That happened to me one time and it froze the radiator. Very old truck.

It's annoying but our gas is cheaper then the other communist states around us

Just leave a little drip from your oil pan and you should be fine. If you’re really nervous about it crack the windows and start it up with very couple of hours and mash the brakes.

Yes it’s gonna be cold for 36-48 hours. That doesn’t mean shite can’t happen… not sure where you live but driving in south Louisiana will be a drag through Thursday. Even if it gets to 40 degrees air won’t stay that temp for a long enough time to melt all the snow. And what does melt will still be wet and with lows Thursday morning in the low 20’s, there will be ice conditions.

Somewhere in the south where it snowed last week and everyone survived without prepping for the end of times.

And where it’s going to be as cold or colder than BR for a longer duration this week

No, but below freezing for about 36 hours. And down to 15 at one point. Antifreeze is probably less concerning than the windshield wiper fluid if yours, like mine, was pure water

It got to colder than this for about 4 days in a row last year here in BR.

Also, why are you topping off with just water and not the typical soapy stuff? Do you go through that much windshield wiper fluid that you can’t afford $5 2x a year?

Starting your car one time for 30 minutes after hour 14 to ensure nothing freezes should do it.

Not to the grade in NOLA. Also the amount of drains in place is staggering.

Ask Boh Bros what goes into building streets to shed water. A lot different setup for snow.
