Everybody getting something back.

We had Travelers up till now and contacted a guy in Houston with Goosehead who is from the Thibodaux area and licensed in LA and TX. He got us a plan with same coverage using Safeco. $700/yr cheaper then saved another $100 by paying for full year at once. He also saved us another $400 on home insurance - same coverage. Our policies went into effect April 1st so I called Safeco today to inquire and sure enough getting back 15% from Safeco for April and May.

Allstate: 15% of premium for April and May (rebate)

Amica: 20% of premium for April and May (credit)

USAA: 20% of premium for April and May (credit)

Shelter: 30% of premium for April and May (rebate)

American Family Insurance: $50 per vehicle

Liberty Mutual/Safeco: 15% of premium for April and May (rebate)

Geico: 15% on total renewals between April 8 and October 7 (credit)

Nationwide: $50 per policy (rebate)

Auto-Owners Insurance: unknown

The General: unknown

Farmers: 25% of premium for April (discounted)

My progressive policy is giving a 20% rebate for April and May

Did you have to do anything to take advantage of this?

I pre-pay for the year, I wonder if that changes things.

Here is a link to Progressive's COVID-19 message to its customers on its website:

quote:

If you have an active personal auto policy at the end of April, you’ll receive a credit for 20% of your April premium. We’ll offer the same 20% credit to active personal auto customers at the end of May, and we may offer additional credits in the upcoming months.

There’s nothing you need to do. We’ll automatically calculate your credit at the end of each month, and then you’ll see it reflected in your account within a few weeks. If you have a balance on your policy, we’ll apply the credit directly to your remaining balance. And if you’re already paid in full, we’ll return the money to the payment account we have on file—so please make sure your payment details are up to date.

This credit is subject to approval by state regulators.

Seriously, give this a guy at Goosehead a call or message. We are saving $114/month with changing home and auto with exact same coverage.

We have Safeco and I did the drive thing where they monitor your driving. My wife and I pay $250/month for 250/500 with UM. Have an umbrella policy through her employer for $2 million with UM for an additional $50/month. In Louisiana.

Auto insurance in La. isn’t bad if you have your personal financial house in order

We are waiting for our car thing to come in. LA has an app you can use too but TX only has the car attachment for now.

Our total policy for two cars full coverage came to around $1100 then got another $100 off by paying it all at once. We shopped around two years ago with a broker that was in the same building as our mortgage lender. They paired us with Travelers. So glad I switched, nice savings.
