I guarantee I will see that car going down I-20 toward Mexico next week. Might be on the back of a carrier or being pulled by a slightly better, less damaged vehicle, with Paco or Juan taking it down to some repair shop in Matamoras. From what I see, that is a prime rebuild in Mexico candidate.

Passed six cars in a row on I-20 westbound last week, each towing one or two cars (didn't know it was legal to tow two vehicles with one tow vehicle). There was a Hispanic driver in each towing car. In each case, the tow vehicle was also damaged, but evidently drivable. Lot of duct tape on some of them. I guess they needed every part to make the trip to Mexico, damaged or not.

The wife and I wagered on how many illegal drugs they were also hauling, except they were going the wrong way to be mules.

I have seen the same thing more than once. Always wonder if they ship them back across the border when they get them bolted and bondoed back together.

air bags deploy?
Fun bags may have been deployed, causing the accident.

I think with 5 months and some salvage yard parts we can fix this right up good as new. - State Farm

Insured: But I only have 30 days of rental coverage at 25 dollars a day (600 total) or best coverage that has a max 1,000 dollars. With rental prices, these days I come out ahead purchasing a beater car for 5 months waiting on the repairs.

State Farm (to customer): That is your problem…Next time don’t get in an accident where you are at fault.

State Farm (to opposing party claimant at fault not their Customer): on second thought the car is totaled (after realizing they will pay close to 50-75 dollars or more a day for a car rental). We are sending you or the lien holder the check via overnight mail for the presumed value of the car based on our proprietary database and rental coverage will end in three days, good luck finding a vehicle.

You might get lucky if it’s just sheet metal damage.

I rolled my 1st new car, age 16, on it’s side and since it was basic white it only cost $300 paint/bondo/prep/etc. That was 1981 so with inflation… $350

It can be fixed, but not for an amount an insurance company will pay. Write that one off.

That is exactly how that will go down. They'll probably have the donor parts car hooked to this one.

A manual transmission Ford Ranger is solid gold in Mexico.

They'll bring it down to Mexico, use a floor jack to somewhat straighten the roof, and never replace the air bags.
Mexico vehicle ownership standards are much lower that the US. They just want 4 wheels and a running engine.

^^^Beat me to it .

Another option is to watch for it on CNN with a load of Taliban pouring out flashing their American weapons cache.....

Although they prefer trucks because the .50 cal mounts better.
