well first, I'm an engineer, so I can't get by without a calculator

Second. I'm thinking this is way to obvious for someone to get wrong, so maybe I'm a moron.

I rotate mine at the dealership I purchased the truck. It's free. If I purchase tires there the rotations remain free.

$20 is a reasonable cost for a tire rotation.

I have had a few instances where they have stated they rotated my tires but didn't. Make sure you mark a tire or wheel before you bring your vehicle to a new place.

His math is correct if you have 6 lugs and a full size spare

Spare tire (or a jack stand, but that wasn't listed)

Literally any shop can do it. There's no "better" way of doing it. There's right or wrong. Hell, most guys can do it at their house

Wrong still. Spares don't have lugs on them. Unless it's something like a Jeep Wrangler, which has 5 lugs, and the spare is only mounted with 3.

I hate and avoid sitting in waiting rooms if I can, so I just do it at home.

Cordless impact for the win.

Since you're getting technical

Except in the case of the jeep most spares even when full size aren't the same tire so you'd actually being changing the first tire twice. 6 lugs 5 tire changes 30 lugs 1 jack

Can you walk me through what you're trying to say here? Because I've never seen a full size spare that didn't match the rest of the tires, and I honestly don't follow what you're trying to say with regard to having to change the first tire twice. Why would you do that?

This is more often the case in trucks.

The spare you lower down from under the bed is full size but isn't the same tire and is on a shitty black rim that is different so you don't want to use it but just use it like a jack

Remove tire 1 replace with spare
Replace 2 with 1
3 with 2
4 with 3
Spare with 4

Make sense?

Yeah, it's in the shop today getting a new fuel pump. Can't tilt the bed because of the gooseneck, and I didn't feel like dropping the tank. Been a really good truck otherwise.

I don't feel like figuring out your 3,2,1 deal, but the proper way to do it is to cross the front when moving them back, and move the back straight forward. That way you get a full rotation after 4 times
