it pretty much did come out of nowhere.

in less than a single second he asked her to stand up, she said okay, and then he attacked her.

Of course, because Chiefs usually don't cover. Please.

In a city like Austin they do. Portland is the same way. We had a cop here that shot what he thought was non lethal force because the bean bags and ammunition was stored together and fired by the same firearm. Cops kept telling the city that it was a problem waiting to happen. Even the independent civilian review of the case said it was a tactical mistake recommended separate storage. Chief not only fired the cop but also recommended charges to the DA even against the training bureau's recommendation not to. It depends on who the chief has to answer to.

correct. This is what led to his discipline. If he had not done this, he'd be fine and she would not be getting some settlement. With that being said, he she complied quickly at first, this might not have happened at all.

There was nothing audible between him asking her to get out of the car and him grabbing her.

No doubt this has been addressed by now, but if not.. speeding. He states it right away.

Okay I finished the video.

She should not have given that attitude of "would you hurry up"

That clearly triggered the man.. and she already was slow to cooperate.. but I don't feel she deserved that and actually thought she handled the arrest, even with resisting, better than I was expecting.

He didn't really hurt her, even trying to put her back on the ground.

This is really not too big of a deal. Often if you just show respect it doesn't ever have to escalate to this.. It's not worth it.. Even if the cop is being a dick.. it's not worth it to mouth of to them.. unless you enjoy being arrested.. which clearly she didn't..

I would suggest turning your volume up. She audibly says "okay" after being asked to stand up.

damn that bitch is a bitch. She's got them water works working for that sympathy that she'll never get from me.

These are the people you entrust your child's education to in Austin.

If she's indicative of the average Austin teacher, that city is gonna be a shite-hole in 15 years.

I love how people that smart mouth authority and fight cops seem to end up so "sensitive and tearful" when recounting the story.

She is so fake.

Cop was a jerk. He reacted intensely too quickly.

I agree with many on the board.

Both walk away clean here.
