Either take them all down or make them federally protected and permanent. One or the other as long as this shite can end once and for all. Both sides are fricking retarded on this one and we should probably stop arguing about it.

He should be more concerned about wearing undershirts in public.
Seems like he's trying to get some business out of this.

If they get rid of the monuments, they shouldn't be replaced with anything. We're seeing how pissy some people get hundreds of years later.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will say that his letter does not say that. It says to erect another monument if the Confederate monument doesn't come down.
I just like accuracy....one way or the other.

Are Confederate statues the original, "Participation Trophy"?

Mr. Davenport's clients need to stop committing crimes then they won't have to go to court and pass by the monument.

The irony that this is being driven by an all black legal organization is striking.

I see no reason for anyone to care what this clown likes or wants. The fact is what he really wants is publicity

I just quoted what the article said.
ETA: And you're right, his letter doesn't state that. Wonder why the article said that?

This didn't even get off of the ground in Shreveport. Even though the Confederate Memorial is basically by the steps of the Courthouse, the little section of dirt it sits on was deeded to the Daughters of the Confederacy over a hundred years ago when it was erected and those old money, rich ladies just chuckled and gave them the finger. The whole thing was DOA.
