Apparently you can't read it, so I'll dumb it down. Most people on AM have a spouse that either doesn't give a shite or wouldn't if they found out. The ones that would care probably won't be searching the channels where this info is released, unless they are already suspicious. My opinion is that it won't amount to a huge train wreck of divorces. But it might take whatever fun is in the website out. Which sucks if you have established connections in places. Like in the S La/ S TX area, which is a nice area.

Not many people have time to look through 32,000,000 names.

The torrent contains highly compressed (gzip) files of multiple GB and has too few peers to download quickly.

It's not just about spouses. It's pretty embarrassing if friends, neighbors, and co-workers find out too.

It's more than just names, it's also credit card numbers. Huge identity theft opportunity.

Anyone downloading the file be careful, in most every state it's a felony to even possess hacked or stolen CC numbers, you can bet some serious law enforcement types are watching the Tors, Silk Road type shite.

ETA, for the first time the FBI has acknowledged they are investigating the release of the file

Reddit had some useful information.

1,665 US Navy

809 USMC

even the whitehouse.gov and NASA.gov, holy shite

LINK
^Link to a directory through which you can search the list of names. The website is really slow/glitchy right now though.

I'm wondering what big name politicians show up on the list.

I seriously doubt the Ashley Madison username "fmrCongressmanAnthonyWeinerz" is an Alias for former Congressman Anthony Weiner. Unless of course his phone was hacked again.
