These people come to our house about once a month. Very nosey and persistent. The guy out of the last pair that came by had a prison tattoo, and the girl he was with was real erratic and strung out.
I assume AT&T gets away with this crap because they're contracting people out by giving them commission but damn, I wish they'd stop.

they came to our house 5 times in 2 days last week. a lot of people in neighborhood are pissed. one person on next door said his wife told them no, they said they would come back to speak to the man of the house
this was after they did the same thing a few months ago, and we had att put us on their do contact list. one of their visits was at 9pm

They probably think you might want more channels since you’re not working on a weekday
Hopefully they take ebt

I had identical experience but it was a natural gas company around 2002 ish in ATL.
The pitch was pretty simple, you get them to produce their current gas bill and you give them 20% off, no matter what the rate already was.
And you got $20 for every signup.
And if you were a "captain" you get an additional $5 for every house that one of your underlings signed up.
The problem is that I'm not a sales personality. But I could definitely see how the right personality could have made a killing.

Check to see if your neighborhood is registered with the Parish as No Solicitors Allowed.

When I was slightly more desperate for a job in college I went on an interview for these guys and it was awful Showed up for interview number one and was asked like 5 basic questions, was told I aced it and they would like to set up a second on site interview Show up to the second interview and they offer to drive me to the site, which ends up being a neighborhood in BR about 30 minutes away from the building. Apparently this on site interview is me following around with this dude for 7 hours while they knock on doors and sell AT&T fiber. Guy spends the whole time bragging about he makes so much money doing this and that they are so nice to let you go home early on saturdays if you sell 2 of the packages first. So you’re looking at a 6 day week, start the day with 2 hours of meetings from 8-10 and then off to knock on doors from 10-7 pm at night. 100 percent commission. No benefits of course. I was stranded with this dude at this point, and he takes me to lunch....that he makes me pay for my own food while we’re at it. And he tells me how in 6 months you can become your own boss with people below you and making all this money. Seemed extremely pyramid scheme like to me, but he assured it was all on the up and up. Of course they offer me a job on the spot and I tell them I’ll let them know after the weekend and never call them back
THIS. This is what they are. There are a couple of these companies doing this around BR.

Dude, they were here last week.
This broad came to our house, 2 days in a row, 5 times during the day. No matter how many times i didn't answer and let the dog bark at her, she would come back an hour to 2 hours later.
Finally after her 10 trip, i answered the door as dog barked non stop, she said something about ATT, i told her no thanks, they are a shite company. They actually charge $19.99 for 5meg internet. 5meg should be free or given away to the poors. Dog kept barking so she said, ok thanx.
I was like what??? 10 trips to sell me ATT??

I took a similar job to this out of college. The freaking meetings before AND after. Worked six days a week, usually 12-14 hours a day. For shite pay. Got out of it quickly.

Tell them you are renting and they leave quickly

It’s fricking nuts. They flood all the job boards too and all have different names so you have to know what to look for to know what they are when job hunting out of college.
I don’t care what the pay is I’m not working 6 days a week for 10 plus hours, especially not on commission

Our neighborhood got out of control with door to door salesmen a while back. These people are worse than the homeless.
We eventually got a ‘No Solicitation’ sign and haven’t had a knock since.
