I just finished this and I was underwhelmed to say the least. It does seem as there is more to the investigation than just Wayne Williams. However Lindsey withheld stories and evidence throughout the entire series that point to Williams as the monster....then it turns into this race relations we need to do better story. He spent a shite load of time talking to people who were completely full of shite too.

I had high hopes after up and vanished but it fell pretty flat for me. I really wish someone would do one of these on the case of Brittney Wood in Mobile and her whole pedophile abusing family. I’m still not convinced she’s dead.

I finished it an I think ole Wayne killed a few gay black men but didn't kill any of the kids.

Videos about Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski are much better.

If he killed anyone I think it’s the opposite.

Gotta agree with the other poster somewhat.

He did not kill all those kids.

A monster was left out there. There were at least 2, if not more, serial killers working the ATL at the time.

I think he killed a lot of them. His whole cover as a music producer was creepy as frick and would’ve worked flawlessly back then.

Feel the same way. I almost stopped listening halfway through because I thought it was pretty dull and boring.

I'm listening to the most recent episode released, episode 10. Is this the last one?

I liked the first 5 episodes a ton, but it's tapered off for me. Up and Vanished was better imo

He was only ever charged with the 2 adults.

ETA: I bailed after episode 4 or 5. I realized it wasn't going to come to any sort of conclusion like up and vanished. Although in retrospect, dude got lucky with Grinstead

I bailed after the third episode. I also didn't love Up and Vanished, I respect that the podcast helped close a cold murder but just didn't really like it. I was already aware of the Atlanta murders and the theories that Wayne Williams wasn't the only killer but based on the things I read I thought he was the killer.

I was 8 when it started to make news. Every mom in the neighborhood gave us lectures about strangers it seemed.

Yes. That is the last one. What pissed me off was he just threw some very important evidence in there at the end.

That is a crazy case. AJ McCarron's uncle was even one of the arrested. I think she is dead, though. but who knows what else happened in that situation before it all unraveled. Supposedly going on for generations

I don't think little, pudgy (possibly gay) Wayne was killing adults. That bridge incident was bullshite. Wayne is a weirdo - he has delusions of grandeur which leads to some of his bullshite lies. If you look at each of the cases individually I think a lot of those kids were killed by different people...there may have been a serial killer, but he didn't kill everyone on the list. I think the most interesting possibility was the known pedos in the neighborhood that had been seen with some of the dead kids.

Sort of true, but it seems undeniable that in 1980 white Atlanta didn't care all that much just because it was little black kids.

I have to give Payne at least some props for getting that one solved, but he really just is a truly lousy podcaster. The tone he uses is stupid. The order is sometimes stream-of-consciousness. And don't get me started on the warning-less jumps to commercial at inopportune times. (At least with AM, he seems to have dropped that murder party game as a sponsor - good lord, was it tone deaf for him to use that in U&V!)

I don’t care for Payne Lindsey. He tries so hard to be this over the top voice and it doesn’t work for me

I bailed after episode 3 when it became clear that because he was black everyone in the black community thought he was innocent.
I enjoyed the Tara story but this one was poorly done.

Just finished it and I agree. It's like he was working toward Wayne being innocent the whole time, but then the conclusion was just "yeah he probably did it and he's a liar"

This simply isn't true. You must not have listened very closely.
