This is mostly about the shady campaign finance dealings of one of the Atlanta candidates but provided an interesting tidbit on the NOLA race.

quote:

Horadam posited that the flow of Louisiana cash to Lance-Bottoms may relate to scheme to trade donors with Desiree Charbonnet, the business-friendly mayoral candidate running in New Orleans. Charbonnet’s campaign has received an influx of donations from Atlanta contractors, including firms and individuals who have donated to Lance-Bottoms, suggesting donors backing each candidate have found a way to elect two establishment-backed politicians while essentially doubling the amount they can legally donate.

They better hope they aren’t doing that because the FBI would be on that like nobody’s business. Conspiracy, interstate wire fraud, possibly RICO and other stuff. This is the kind of case they drool over.

How can we only find these two arse hats to run one of the most historically significant cities in the world? This city is fricked.

Atlanta has nice airport but I wouldn’t call it one of the most significant cities in the world

A pretty big bribery scandal just went down in the Atlanta city government with contractors paying bribes to be awarded contracts.

You would think a mayoral candidate would try to stay clear of this type of crap especially while there is a current investigation of similar misdeeds.

It sounds like a Tech student uncovered many of the “irregularities” so hopefully a real enforcement agency will do some digging.

The Intercept is getting shittier and shittier

Lance Bottoms is pro-business in one sense, she's also a SJW who had robocalls telling Atlantans to avoid the white takeover of city hall.

Also Mary Norwood is a conservative only when you compare her to 5 black Democrats.

I actually know some FBI political corruption guys (SA’s assigned to that Division) and this case, if real, would be a wet dream for them. Especially if they could show the candidates have knowledge. Two major cities, construction contractors, campaign finance irregularities, conspiracy, etc. It has it all.

Bottoms is the candidate with the endorsement of the current mayor, so there shouldn't be any surprise if she is involved in things like this.

Not sure, but I kinda think “business friendly,” in this context, is a euphemism for “will happily speak with the bag-man.”

Latoya is attacking a local business that my friends own for an incident that happened in their parking lot amongst two women a few weeks back. She’s basically threatening the business with her city council “power” to purchase a new iPhone bc one woman threw it at the other women after an altercation broke out. All went down in the parking lot.

If by business friendly you mean businesses owned and operated by said candidates many cronies, then yes.
