Athletes of TD. Questions for you.

1. When coaches go to the mound, what exactly are they saying to the pitchers?
2. What kind of verbal exchanges occur between opposing football players while on the field?
3. When players go to the locker rooms at halftime, what is said/done? Is there always a "let's go gettem" speech or do players ever just rest and discuss the next half strategy?
4. Any funny stories out there concerning any of these questions that you would feel the need to share with a poor little non athlete?

Water sucks. It really really sucks. Gatorade is better than water

1. depends on the situation. could be calming him down, could be telling him how to pitch the next guy, could just be killing time to get a guy in the bullpen warm
2. a lot of "you scared?" "naw, you are"
3. adjustments to the gameplan based on what they've seen differently from the opponent.
have you never played any sports before?

In high school, one game my coach was unhappy about our tacking so during halftime instead of adjustments and strategy we went behind the locker room and did tackling drills.

I've had a few friends who played D-I volleyball. According to them, huddles on the court were mainly to try to stay loose, so they'd crack jokes and make fun of somebody on the other team. They told me some of the things that stood out in their memory -- women athletes can be very very very crude.
Also, multiple players from two separate teams told me independently that between plays, middle blockers will try to crop-dust the opposing setter's spot on the court. If you watch closely during a match you can see it happening, and when it's successful, you can see the setter flinch when she runs up to the net.

1.
Lots of times it to burn to get someone in the BP ready. If its early in the game itsnmostnof the timenthe pitching coach telling the P about mechanics or something or to get signs straight.

yeah, i've played sports but only in a very limited capacity. i played junior high football and intramurals of football and baseball. not that much trash talking in junior high (some but not much) and the coach doesn't come to the mound in intramurals.
i'm aware of what should go on in locker rooms and on the mound but i just can't picture what could possibly be discussed in specific situations. "man, your pitching sucks. i really need to replace you" "no it doesn't. i'm pitching just fine." "oh. my mistake. i'll go back over here to the dugout until you are done."

1. When coaches go to the mound, what exactly are they saying to the pitchers?
Mostly just "Hey there, I'm just here to slow things down and lighten up the pressure. Plus buy time for my bullpen to get warm.
2. What kind of verbal exchanges occur between opposing football players while on the field?
Your sister was really eager last night, she just couldn't get enough of my cock.
Such comments are generally ignored of course. But it's entertaining.
3. When players go to the locker rooms at halftime, what is said/done? Is there always a "let's go gettem" speech or do players ever just rest and discuss the next half strategy?
At a serious program everyone is already focused on the task at hand, motivational speeches aren't necessary. So there will be lots of discussion about adjustments, all very upbeat of course. If a corner is getting abused all the time the coach will simply talk about how he's adjusting the safety up to provide help.

No. You aren't in the circle. Sorry.

really just depends. We had one coach that would say stuff like "check out Jimmy's mom, what a MILF" I always thought that was awesome and relaxed the pitcher some

"pussy" "you're a bitch" "shut the frick up"

trash talking as others have said. "You hit like a bitch" "you play football like a hoe" and my favorite: "y'all are garbage" (heard that one once when we were up 35-0 in the 2nd quarter )

Didn't happen to me but my best friend was on the schools wrestling team. We went to a majority black school, and there was a wrestling tournament at a majority white school. Before the tournament started, the head coach pulled them off to the side and told them "if y'all embarrass me in front of those white people, I'm gonna frick y'all up". Later on in the tournament, said coach ended up getting a point deducted for calling one of the ref's a bitch I know, I know, CSB

In fairness, we need to know the context. Maybe the other teams were already up 49-0 at that point.
