I was hoping this was the case. I've come close to cutting the cord but have not yet. If it was just me I would, but with two kids and a wife I have not yet.

I cancelled my Comcast before they increased the data limit. So I guess what I'm saying is you're welcome.

Boom.
Switched back to AT&T from Verizon this week for precisely this reason

the worst part about ATT, is they could literally crush everyone and offer the best net/tv/phone service out there for a decent price.
But they just cannot help themselves from being jackoffs. It's like they use a syringe of "a-hole" on every CEO that takes over.
People want to bitch about shite, bitch about how our government lets the cable companies/cell providers frick over Americans with high prices on shite service and slow speeds. For christs sake, there are 3rd world nations who have better cell and internet services. And they pay a lot less.

UPDATE AT&T is also now charging everyone a $100 Internet Gateway Fee effective immediately to all customers. The only way this fee will be waived is if you call and complain.

Hit 633 last month, only at 300 so far this month. We use OTA, HULU, Amazon prime, and Kodi, and havent regretted cordcutting ONE bit. The family loves it since they watch what they want, when they want. frick ATT for the caps, it was strictly financial to try and get people who cordcut to sign up for the shitty Directv company they bought

Pretty sure that's only if you're using only the internet (i.e., not bundling)

Correct its only if you are using the Internet that the Gateway Fee of $100 is applied. The charge was on my bill for July we received today.

I'm a cord cutter, and use AT&T. My monthly allotment is 600 GB, and I've only used like 350 on this billing cycle (which only has about 2 or 3 days left). And we have two Tv's, 2 ipads, and 2 phones that we have connected to the wifi. So at first I was pissed about this news, but looks like i'll be fine

The OP is wrong.
Dear Customer,
You recently received an e-mail incorrectly stating that beginning on May 23, 2016, there's a $10 charge for each 50GB of data you use over your U-verse® Internet allowance amount.
To clarify: beginning on May 23, 2016, you will automatically receive an unlimited home Internet data allowance (a $30 value) at no additional charge as a benefit of purchasing a bundle of U-verse Internet and U-verse TV services.
After May 23, 2016, log in to your account at att.com/myatt to find helpful tools to view your data usage. Questions? Go to att.com/internet-usage.
Thank you for being a loyal U-verse customer,

Exactly. I haven't seen an increase on any of my bills. Hell you can get the cheap-o Uverse-TV package for a decently low rate, I normally pay about $180. No worries

Look at the subject of this Topic? False and a douche move trying to shite on AT&T. I pay 141 a month for Max turbo internet and U450. I am extremely happy with my service.
Posted on 6/21/16 at 4:27 pm to DCtiger1
oh yeah, you're right
I'm happy with my service too, never had a problem with AT&T

Ditto. I was seriously considering cutting cable altogether (wife and I rarely watch TV straight up unless it's a sporting event), but when I realized I could get unlimited data if I bundled with cell phone lines (Verizon's customer service <<<< AT&T's, in my experience), it was a no-brainer.
Could seem like I'm biased because two of my favorite pro teams play in the AT&T Center and AT&T Stadium, but I swear that's just a coincidence

I'm a hundred percent correct on this. I've spent two hours on the phone with them today on this issue. Nothing I said was inaccurate in fact it is 100% accurate.
