Still out here in the New Roads area. What is really burning my arse is, my land line is not working. Thanks ATT.
My land line reads my heart monitor 24/7 and is the only reason I have it.
I'm pissed.

Expect the runaround from AT&T when you try to figure what is going on (or ask about a credit).
They used to give me the runaround every year during Mardi Gras because I live on the route and couldn't get service and would have like 10 voicemails hit my phone at once after the weekend was over. One rep told me over the phone that they didn't have reports of issues and the next day they had a freaking article on nola.com about all the people with AT&T who were complaining about little or no service. I never switch, but I finally decided to switch after that. No problems during Mardi Gras anymore.

My sister just called me. Never was so happy to hear her voice. I figured they were likely ok where they were at...I just needed that confirmation.
If anyone has family/friends in the Rose Hill subdivision off Tigerbend (near Elliot).....everyone is doing ok. They don't have water or power, and cannot leave the subdivision....but no homes have water in them.

Your parents place is OK?
We have no idea. They live in the Torrey Pines trailer park off Old Hammond near Oneal. They were evacuated to my aunt and uncle's house yesterday around 11 am.
Based on what I keep reading about the flooding near Oneal....I'm preparing myself for the worst right now.

At the press conference that just ended, LSP Edmonson stated they having been working with AT&T and something like 11 new cell towers are going up in BR and eastward. That should be a nice upgrade.

Have you tried turning your phone off/on? That's what did the trick for me

Saw the Colonel mention that. Sounds like AT&T is having to stand up a *completely new* cell system for the area. Points off for the original one failing, but points back on for finally getting in gear to cover the metro area of up to 4 thousand square miles.
