It doesn't happen overnight but one that sticks out to me was 1991 when the NRA and conservative republicans were running ads saying Clinton would ban guns if elected President.
I knew I was a lot smarter than all the people who actually believed that. That is the one time it really shook me up realizing how stupid people are.
