I wouldn't send my 10 year old to a rock show on a Friday night
Now, the act in question can change that answer qbove

Would the company hired to provide security not shoulder some of the blame legally if their security was overwhelmed
Security is often limited by the circumstances the concert organizers have left them in. These large festival concerts have porous perimeters that are often times too unwieldy to properly manage.
That being said, it will also depend on what assurances and expectations the security company gave the concert organizers. If they over-stated their ability to control such a larger crowd, that's on them.

This kind of thing wouldn’t happen where “decent” folk hang out. But if it happens anywhere, eventually it happens everywhere. It was “our” kids who were there, too. It was everyone’s kids.

Thank you, I imagine a lot of this will come down to contract details. Eight people died, this isn’t just going to go away
Posted on 11/6/21 at 11:10 am to Big Scrub TX
Yep. In the 80s 97 people died at a Liverpool football game in the UK from a similar accident. Unfortunately this happens when the venues don’t adequately plan for this kind of an event

This one differs though, you had so many fence crashers that the crowd couldn't be controlled.
The environment was never under control. I'm not sure how you plan for illegal entry en masse.

Yeah I’d even argue Travis Scott fans are a majority white more than any other demographic
They are. We were there with 6 white teenagers and they were the majority in most areas. The crowd was very well mixed.
I love reading all this shite on here from idiots

Since that has been shown not to be the the case, those posters are no longer posting in this thread. Funny how that works.

yeah, there's a lot of moving parts here. It's not all going to fall on one entity's shoulders. Usually security companies are contracted out to do just the very basics of security. 95% of the staff are no more than hourly labor who answered an ad off Craigslist. Any of the more experienced security staff are almost always posted up near the main stage(s). In most occassions, no 1 "security" company can fulfill all staffing needs, so there are multiple security companies all working various aspects of a festival. Some are on perimeter duty, perhaps another one is only working stages, and a 3rd may be responsible for just gates and access points. And usually there's yet another security company that's been contracted to do nothing but just coordinate the other security companies and deployment schedules.
There are so many variables. The site, the layout, the temporary perimeter layout for traffic control, blowout gates, etc, etc....
There's a production company, a security company, consultant, fire code enforcement, emergency planners, and a whole host of people and personnel that will be sued here. Insurance companies are going to fight this to the bitter end

What does that have to do with the demographics

That's generally where the idea came from that this was probably hood related.
You know, if you see a video where 80% of the people entering illegally are black, you probably are going to assume the crowd was too.

You didn’t even know who Travis Scott was 2 pages ago and now your an expert on his crowd demographics

at least one of the victims was 15 years old. Jesus.

People made initial judgments based on the only video they saw.
It doesn't mean its right. But it also doesn't make them racist, which has been said several times.
I'm trying to explain to the SJW the reasoning. Not justify it.
