This anthem stuff is getting out of control, but I still find it funny.

The people who think you should be forced to stand for the anthem are just as bad as all the SJW groups in this country that the "anthem people" complain about.

I wear a hat pretty much all the time. I would of total the person to go frick themselves. Will take it off if I am actually at an event, not for a god damn TV version.

This is stupid. Did the whole bar stand during the anthem on a television? No disrespect, but I don't stand at home during an anthem on tv, why would I do it at the bar. People are annoying in general. I remember when I was like ten years old I had forgotten to take my hat off and some drunk frick behind me screamed at me. Im all about respecting the flag, but let's respect each other, too.

A sports bar doesn't count as inside.

So everyone in the bar was silent and stood up?

If so - weird.

If not - then person requesting the hat come off should have been told to shite and bark at the moon.

I was at a sporting event last week and a kid with a hat on had just stood up before the anthem and a guy a couple rows behind him yelled, "take your hat off, I'm an Army Veteran". After the anthem the kid said "thank you for your service" and the Army guy laughed and said he'd rather see respect than get thanks.

Nothing hinted that the kid wasn't going to take his hat off because the anthem hadn't even started yet, just seemed like the guy wanted everyone to know he was a veteran and ultra patriotic.

If someone had told me that, I would have taken another guy's hat and put it on too. Then I would have farted so loud and ruined the national anthem for everyone else. He would regret that day for the rest of his life.

If any of them old fellas would have been there pounding wings I would have took my hat off.

I just thought the whole thing was odd. Patriotism has gotten silly. Which is sad. It feels manufactured.

Every politician HAS to wear the flag pin on their lapel? If one of them forgets one morning, it would break facebook.

The addition of God Bless America at games? It is NOT the anthem. People still take hats off again and some stand?

And now the inside thing? It just caught me by surprise, and I took it off. not that I would have protested anyway. He was the bar manager, and I had not received my food yet. Eating spit ain't cool.

You should remove your frickin cover indoors anyway ya shite bird.

Using the term "cover" excludes you from the discussion. If you hear one note from a bugle or of the Anthem you are afraid the hat will be slapped off of your head. It is a survival reflex to remove it.

A. Is a bar a "table"?

B. My Maw-Maw died in 1987. You took your fricking hat off at her table or she'd let you know. Paw-Paw would let you know too, but more of a "don't start no shite, won't be none" kind of notice.

They free to ask. You free to not do it.

Of note, as a veteran I do not have to remove my hat. I can render hand salute. .... I do neither while watching it on tv.

As a vet, if you were in my spot yesterday, would your jimmies have been rustled? Or would you have just taken it off and eaten wings and drank beer?

Ive never understood why this is a thing....whats wrong with wearing a hat indoors.....

I get that you should take it off at the table....but in doors at a bar? Dont see a problem with that.

Military term for any hat/helmet. I don't know how much it is used as I am not military. I know the term was used in Full Metal Jacket and I believe Heartbreak Ridge.
