New Orleanians aren't in denial of is that every other city in the state of Louisiana is just another basic, backwoods Texas/Arkanas/Mississippi two bit town

The self importance of New Orleanians always cracks me up. New Orleans is a left behind tourist town. What was once Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas's competitor has been relegated to competing with Savannah and Charleston for conventions.

Is the city a great place to visit? Sure. Would I live there? yes. Is it a relevant major city? frick no.

Not sure what you are getting at here.
#1, I don't think anyone will try and compare Nola to Atlanta, Houston, or Dallas, etc as far as being nice and having a great economy, etc.

Nola def. competes with them on conventions and tourist dollars.

It's just fun sometimes in threads like this. Nola gets something like 16 million visitors a year and some baw on here tries to claim it's because they come to smoke dope and drink crappy drinks.

Which isn't the economic focal point of any of those other cities

I wasn't saying those cities were tourist towns.

New Orleans had 18mm visitors in 2018......thats the most ever.

So im not sure what you mean by "left behind tourist town" "that used to compete with Atlanta, Houston and Dallas"

I'm saying New Orleans went from an economic powerhouse to a tourist town whose best economic news is a hotel opening.

Thanks captain obvious.
I thought the thread was about why people visit Nola.

Yes, new orleans has lost lots of corporations and has become dependent on tourism....I get what you're saying.

so what do you want to happen?....it's hard for a city, unless you're New York City to have both...

If you conceal or open carry there’s a good chance you get some target practice in.
