Tell me where to get this magical stuff. All the Kratom I’ve had did absolutely nothing.

The internet.

Apparently the good stuff is like taking 5 or 6 10mg Vicodin + it has antidepressant effects.

Used habitually it becomes a ball-and-chain like all the rest as the human body will always seek equilibrium, and subsequently down-regulate receptors towards that end.

Ban something that is effective and replace it with something deadly. Makes sense.

Regardless of the item, banning something on a Parish basis is retarded.

Yes but it’s no different than wet or dry counties. It’s not unprecedented. Although it is dumb.

Not commenting on its legality but I have met a few people who got addicted to kratom. As mentioned previously I've heard the withdrawals are pretty bad actually

My ex uses Kratom. She used to smoke weed constantly and take Adderall daily. Now she doesn't use either. And if she doesn't have Kratom, for whatever reason, she doesn't suffer from withdrawals. She's definitely not addicted to Kratom either.

I guess she's the only person I know that takes the stuff but really seems like it's no more harmful than drinking coffee.

I believe you and the other positive anecdotes. Fwiw I think it should be legal. Nonetheless the potential for abuse and dependency does exist. My comment was based on a drug addict that told me his withdrawals from Kratom were awful. He was taking obscene dosages to counter his tolerance though.

I grew up in a dry county. Extremely dumb.

The cultures and demographics of Portugal vs the US might as well be two different planets

I am for full legalization, but this is correct. ITs a gamble here.

There definitely would be more issues than abroad.

I highly doubt anyone is thinking “damn, kratom is illegal now in ascension parish so I guess it’s heroin for me”

West coast cities with liberal DAs have done the same and it’s not working out as well.

Anyway, I’d like to try some good kratom. If the stuff on the internet is better than the stuff at the vape stores, does anyone have a link? A certain brand or something to look for when ordering?

I agree that it ought to be legal for adult consumption, and is great for keeping people off
Harder drugs, but it can certainly be more harmful than coffee: in some users it can severely elevate GGT and other liver enzymes, but then again so can alcohol.

Withdrawals can be rough, including severe restless legs, insomnia, myalgias/arthralgias/malaise, diarrhea, etc much like opioid withdrawal minus the vomiting(as in heroin W/D). It is certainly much milder than alcohol e.g. no life-threatening seizures, etc.

It should absolutely be legal, but coffee it ain’t.

There are some pretty interesting cases of alcohol being banned and then later allowed already in the US. Tribal situations come to mind. Up here there wasn’t really a change in alcohol consumption after it was allowed to be sold on tribal land. All that changed was tax revenue.

I take kratom daily.
There’s 2 major kinds.
The high dollar stuff can frick you up, like $40 for 5 pills. It’s bad stuff. Dope fiends get hooked on that stuff.
The other kind, which I take, is 120 pills for $18. It gives me a little pep in the morning like coffee.

It sucks it gets all wrapped into one group.

You are correct but it’s a slippery slope for addicts. It’s pretty easy to build up a dependency where you feel like shite for 3 weeks and have severe withdrawals. If you are an addict. Don’t even try it. You don’t have the discipline to maintain and it will take you down. Trust me. It was also wreak havoc on your liver. I’m not saying ban it. Just a warning. It’s trash.

Kratom used appropriately, much like everything else, is one of the most beneficial medicines for anxiety/depression I've ever used and I've tried a lot. Less is more with Kratom

You’d be amazed how many people enter into drug treatment facilities taking only kratom, in amounts ranging up to $300-$500 per day.
They will be just as broke as a heroin addict, pawning their stuff and everybody else’s to buy gas station pills (kratom).

Here is the more important issue: no health insurance company will cover drug treatment if the client is using kratom exclusively.
