People filming stuff instead of watching it has been a problem long before social media. Ever seen a fireworks show? Every cheese dick has their phone out. Are you really going to watch that again?

I think the ability to live in the moment was starting to be threatened when cameras were put on cellphones. Thinking back to something like Christmas, it annoys the piss out of me when parents are more worried about taking their kids pictures opening presents than actually just enjoying the moment.

Yeah you can't really fully enjoy the concert when you too busy trying to hold your phone still to video it. Like boat said....who actually goes back and watches that?

I agree it's ridiculous people take themselves out of the moment to bring out their phone and take a video of something. It takes the experience away from them. Furthermore, more often than not, it seems people incriminate themselves with the things that they post.
ETA: Or they get others in trouble. Just have fun in the moment and you'll have nothing to regret.

A lot of people. YouTube is now filled with pretty damn good audience videos from shows. Cellphones being able to shoot in HD (even up to 4K) has made "bootleg" concert videos very legit in terms of quality.
That being said, I personally can't sit there and film a whole song, let alone a whole show. I am grateful that some do.
