I used to fear getting older but developing that dgaf zen mentality (especially when you begin applying it to your own immortality) makes every year more enjoyable than the last.

I don't fear it I guess. My life is arguably better now than anytime ever. I just don't feel 25 anymore though and this has been a fairly recent development. I think I've gotten to the age where I think about all of the dumb shite I did when I was younger and kind of regret it for the first time in my life

I guess you’re right. But all the boomers I know (dad/uncles/Martitni) have the same mentality.

It’s the way American men are supposed to behave. We’re all going through the same shite. What’s to say? Just put your head down and plow through it. There’s always something better ahead.

I'm a 60 yo male. You should talk to your gp and let him/her guide you as to what course of action to take. You owe it to yourself and your family to take care of yourself. Don't put it off and let it get out of hand. You're smart enough to realize something's up so be smart enough to ask for some help from a qualified professional. I wish you well.

Your estrogen is higher than it used to be. It's natural as your testosterone begins to yield and your ratio begins to lower.

You have belly fat? Tired out easy? Get home and crash on the couch?

It's natural, don't go get on test supplements. If there are no real reasons besides age. Working out will reduce it (big muscle groups, heavy weights, low reps).Healthy fats. No eating out of plastic. Drinking a ton of water.

Drop the belly fat and reduce you estrogen and your testosterone will naturally increase. Estrogens can consume your available testosterone and actually create more estrogens. Called aromatase.

It's also common to look back and reflect on life, especially as kids age and one yearns for the years of little feet and rocking babies. I actually take time at night to just set up a camcorder and point it at the living room to just record a normal evening every so often. It's those moments you'll miss the most.

Good luck.

That's why my lack of self-reflection is a positive for me. I just laugh at all the dumb things I've done. My sister told me the other day that the whole family respected my ability to laugh about every fricked up thing that's ever happened to me.

I know if I had a colonoscopy at 45 I would be in much better shape now. I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at 48.

Sorry to hear that bud. I hope all is well. My dad has had cancer twice including testicular so I'm certainly generically predisposed to it.

I went into a funk at 40. Didn't know why, just went there and stayed there till the day I turned 41. Then the fog lifted and life was good again. Apparently 40 meant something to my subconscious. 30 didn't bother me, 50 came and went without incident, but 40 was rough. Hopefully your issues pass also.

You are just a spirit having a human experience for a short while on this planet. Even the “big” things are little things in the broad scope.

I'm mid-40's, an executive at a mid-size company, and my days are filled with stress.

I do not become an emotional wreck.

What I do is want to check out - to completely not think about or do shite for a couple of days, but I often don't get that chance - even on weekends.

So, what we decided to do was look for a large piece of land in Central Texas that we can go to and disconnect, but I have to make the commitment to do it. Otherwise, I will lose my shite soon.

Good luck.

The rat race starts to blow goats after about 20 years. I'd retire tomorrow if I could and I mostly enjoy by career.

Midlife crisis. DO NOT do anything stupid like running off with a 19 year old. You will frick up your life. Like somebody said, hang in there and soon you won't GAF about too much of anything. Good luck.
