I'm sure this has been discussed in the stickied thread but I wanted a separate discussion.

The camo wearing gun toting suspect from last night was not hurt or shot at, even though all of DPD was looking for him. Why...? Because he complied with officers and gave them his gun and did exactly what they asked. This should be a lesson for BLM people.

No, now he's been unjustly smeared and his name hasn't been cleared sufficiently. It literally is never good enough.

I have been seeing this all over the facebook. Person of interest and suspect are not one in the same, but you can't fix stupid.

Once he was cleared there should have been a concerted effort to clear his name. However, open carrying an AR-15 (even if unloaded) as a means of protesting is a fricking stupid practice.

Ok. Do you think more people are shot when they comply or when they don't comply?

then dont go to a rally with a rifle strapped to your person. it's not a fricking hard concept at all. I dont care if he was expressing his right to the 2nd amendment, there's not need for that. We all have that right.

You would be correct. Do you disagree with me when I say that BLM and other leaders should be pushing compliance? Right now the narrative from them and you in your earlier post is compliance gets you shot. While that may happen .001% of the time, it is not likely to happen and could scare some citizens into non compliance which you agreed is more dangerous.

I'm sorry I don't feel sorry for him at all. He decided to carry around a rifle, that was his decision. When shite hits the fan like it did. Of course you will be a person of interest. Like its only logical. Police did their job. That is what people want, right?

So he had a bad experience after being at a protest with a gun. I know he carried it legally but that doesn't mean you won't be scrutinized for having it. I'm sure he is glad he complied rather than not. He is alive to complain this morning do he made at least one good decision last night.

I agree they should have cleared him the moment they knew, but they were in full blown crisis mode. Officers were being murdered. They could have done better, but the reality is that their margin for error was pretty big at the time given the circumstances.

Or maybe the cops who were doing the talking knew what they were doing. There isnt a right answer for this because we arent in the minds of these people.
